Welcome
Welcome to National Grid Property's website for its plans to regenerate the Northfleet West Sub Station site, near Swanscombe in Kent. The property arm of National Grid has set up this site to provide information on our proposals, to keep you informed of our progress as the plans move through the planning process, to answer your questions and to invite your comments.
The plans are for a mixed-use sustainable community with up to 1,500 new homes.
Revised Masterplan Submitted
Following the submission of a planning application in March
2005, revised illustrative masterplans were submitted to
Dartford Borough Council in June 2007 and September 2008. The
key components of the proposals remain unchanged but the layout
of the development has been altered. The size of the proposed
primary school site has been increased and it is now located
adjacent to the town square in the centre of the development and
closer to the proposed Fastrack stop. In addition, the
mixed-use area in the northern part of the site has been
extended eastwards. These changes were made in response
to feedback received during Dartford Borough Council’s most
recent consultation on the planning application.
